Oculus Dance Nights: Salsa Under the Stars

Presented by Westfield World Trade Center and the Port Authority of NY & NJ, celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an unforgettable night of music, movement, and community at our first-ever Oculus Dance Nights.
Join us on the North Oculus Plaza for Salsa Under the Stars — an outdoor dance event featuring a free salsa lesson led by renowned dancer and choreographer Talia Castro-Pozo, followed by open dancing under the city lights. Whether you're an experienced dancer or just looking to try something new, all are welcome to join in on the rhythm.

Paint and Sit with Art on the Avenue
Date: Wednesday, September 24
Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Location: North Oculus Plaza
Join us for a free, guided art class led by artist JJ Gonzalez Acosta in partnership with Art on the Avenue. Class will be capped at 30 participants. All materials will be provided and participants can take their art home with them. Open to all ages and skill levels!

About the artist:
JJ Gonzalez Acosta is a visual artist from Valencia, Venezuela, who began his artistic journey at age 5, learning from his mother and aunts. He earned a B.A. in Arts Education and a Master's degree in management. In 2017, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he taught art and origami. Since relocating to New York City in 2022, his work has been featured in Times Square, by Art on the Ave NYC, and Sing for Hope. JJ also teaches art in the public library system and paints Broadway portraits.
